Without wasting valuable time with this intro, here is what you need know about the new iPhone 6S 6S Plus, iPad Pro and Apple TV. One thing is for sure, the products revealed at the Apple Event has stay true my predictions I just posted several days ago.
Without further ado,I bring you all the information you need to know about each device.
The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus
As expected the big change here with the new iPhones is not with the design but the hardware. The iPhone 6 and 6Plus "S" models will have A9 processor which will give an 70% increase over the A8 processor and much faster graphics at 90%, this will boosts performance while gaming and viewing video content. Just like the current iPhone 6 and 6Plus,the new iPhones will be implemented with a motion co-processor,with the new iPhone it will be the M9 co-processor or the current gen M8. Present will be a second generation Touch ID thats said to be more responsive and fast.
Probably the biggest hardware upgrade to the new iPhone 6 "S" series is its camera,12MP rear iSght camera with accurate auto focus technology. The new iPhone is now capable of shooting video in 4K. The front facing camera will 5MP HD camera which will include "Retina Flash" technology
The Force Touch technology on the new iPhone is call 3D Touch, similar to the Apple Watch, it has the force sensing technology that adds a "peek and pop" gesture, this bring up modal windows and any apps that's hidden under panes. Like with the Apple Watch, the 3D Force Touch technology is all made possible with a Taptic Engine.
On the connection front, the new iPhones will have much faster Wi-Fi connection at 866Mbps. It will have LTE Advanced connectivity with up to 23 LTE bands.
If you were looking for Apple to finally ditch the 16GB model, sadly it is won't happen. Apple sticks with the same storage tier pricing plan -- with contract of course $199 16GB, $299 32GB, $399 64GB.
My First Impression:
Though some of the new added features in the next generation iPhones are impressive, they're not in the line of anything innovative. It now has a 12 MP camera that can shoot 4K video, something that other smartphone competitors have had for 3 years now, nevertheless it's still refreshing to see the iPhone finally shoot 4K video. The 3D Touch technology is rather interesting, aside from the upgraded camera, its the one features I can't wait to try out. A little disappointed that there is still no wireless charging with the new iPhones. Question that begs to be answered: Is the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus for me? I would say no, because my current iPhone 6 Plus pretty much covers all bases in satisfying my overall need. Now if by chance you're coming from the iPhone 5 or 5S and in need for a serious upgrade, then the new iPhones are definitely your best choice. It has great hardware and what seemingly is a much improved camera.
iPad Pro
What constitutes the iPad Pro as being the certifiable "Pro" tablet? It has massive display that measures 12.9-inches with a 2732 x 2048 resolution, 264 pixels per inch. It also comes with a very powerful A9X 64-bit third generation processor, with twice the memory bandwidth ( no mention on how many GB's is the memory). Packs 10 full hours of battery life. For sound the iPad Pro has a four-speaker audio system thats said to be 4-times louder than the current generation iPad Air 2.
The iPad Pro can't be define as the "pro" without throwing in the stylus pen and a keyboard, which by the way it has. It been long rumored that Apple would institute a stylus pen with the iPad Pro, well that rumor has turn into reality and its dubbed the Apple Pencil. Its a stylus pen that has some serious tech within,it emits signals from both locations of the pen that enables users to make shaded strokes. The pen tracks tilt and pressure without users adding any pressure at all. The Apple Pen recharges via the Lightning connector, which you plug directly into the tablet.
Then we have the Smart Keyboard as the other added accessory. It attaches via a new technology called the Smart Connector, this carries power and data by way of connected magnets.
The iPad Pro will run apps such as Microsoft Office,Adobe Comp and Adobe Photoshop Fix and Photoshop Sketch.
The price listing with the iPad Pro starts out at $799 for the 32GB with Wi-Fi, 128GB for $949, 128GB with Wi-Fi and cell for $1,079. The Apple Pen retails for $99 and the Smart Keyboard $169.
My First Impression
The iPad Pro is rather impressive, beautiful display with excellent hardware, but the inflated price tag is rather hard for me to swallow. With it being so pricey, you mind as well get a laptop,or even better a Windows Surface Pro which you can get at the same price with more functionality. Speaking of which, one of my biggest complaints with the Surface Pro is the added keyboard accessory should not come with a price tag,the same can be said with the iPad Pro,asking consumers to cough up and extra $100 or more for two accessories which is devices main attraction is a bit dare I say insane, but then again this is Apple we're talking here, everything I guess has a price.
The New Apple TV
Out of all the devices that was unveiled at the Apple Event, the new Apple TV is probably the one device I would purchase right now if it was to hit the market for purchase today. There are many features that's impressive here starting with an incorporated Siri voice search, which enables users to search across an array of apps and content. This is achieve by simply speaking through your remote control which has a built-in mic. Speaking of which, the new remote has a nice glass touch finish for finger navigation,no more clicking tactile buttons. You simply swipe and click with one touch of the finger.
The overall design of the new Apple TV has not changed, palm size square build similar to the current generation Apple TV. The ports still remains in the rear,if you look closely at the ports its slightly larger than the previous generation.
The biggest change definitely is the Apple TV's UI , a complete total overhaul. The operating system dubbed tvOS will give you total access to developing apps and games. The new UI will will include 3D effects to its cover art and will have deep Siri integration.
The specs like the rest of the devices I've mentioned is pretty impressive. Starting with a more powerful 64-bit A8 processor, which is the same chip used in the iPhone 6 and 6Plus (Current generation). The new Apple TV includes a IR receiver, 802.11ac WiFi with MIMO, and Bluetooth.
Pricing will go as follows, it will start out $149 for the 32GB model and $199 for the 64GB model. The third gen Apple TV will get a huge price reduction at $69. Expect to see the new Apple TV hit the market in October.
First Impression
Out of all the new Apple devices that I've written thus far,I would say the Apple TV is the most impressive. There's isn't much to criticize,it has a uniquely impressing remote which will make for better navigation, much improved UI and Siri will actually serve its purpose with the new Apple TV. Oh yeah, did I mention (which I didn't) you can now game on the Apple TV. Outside of the gaming console,I'm a boldly say the new Apple TV could be the best set-Top device on the market.
