Sony Launches a Speedy USB 3.0 Thumb Drive

You are starting to see a plethora native USB 3.0 chipsets and whole host of USB 3.0 capable motherboards on the market thanks in part to several third party chip makers such as NEC and Marvell so there is no reason for system owners to strap themselves USB 2.0 storage device.In comes Sony's new Micro Vault MACH USB 3.0 flash drive,not only sleek in design but its very speedy.

The flash drive is available in capacities ranging from 8GB to 64GB, the Micro Vault MACH has a rapid data transfer rate that reads like this, 120MB/s for read and up to 90MB/s write.Like all USB 3.0 ready storage devices made today it is backward compatible with USB 2.0.The only drawback with USB 2.0 is you won't take advantage of the flash drives speed.

The Micro Vault MACH series is expected to be shipped sometime this month and will include a five-year warranty,no word on pricing.
