File-It-Under: Apple tiny slates By: D.F.Skinner!~
So there it is,the new iPad Mini, not shock right,I mean we only been hearing rumors about the iPad mini for a good year now,we all just wondering when will the folks at Apple would finally release the device. Clearly what we are seeing here is Apple trying to tap into the 7-inch tablet market, especially when you have success from the likes of Kindle Fire and Nexus 7.Will the release of the iPad mini cause a shift 7-inch tablet market? That remains to be seen.So what are we looking at here in terms of hardware specs, design and features.
The mini has a 7.9 inch display that have a 1,024 x 768 resolution which is the same display resolution as seen on the iPad 2,the dimension of the device comes in at 7.2mm thick, weighs just .68 pounds, the iPad Mini operates on a dual-core A5 processor and like all Apple mobile devices it has a front facing and a rear cameras 5MP iSight camera which is on the rear of the device will be capable of recording in full 1080p HD.As far as connection goes, the iPad mini will have total LTE connection just like the iPhone 5,WiFi will have 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless standard.Much to my dismay the iPad Mini will have the famed lightening connector, not the universal connector that I liked and we've grown to get use to,it will have 10 hours of long lasting battery life at 10 hours and,it will support Siri.
The iPad mini will come in three storage flavors, 16GB at a $329 price point,32GB ($429) and 64GB ($519).Now the mini is WiFi only but the consumers have the privilege of upgrading to LTE connection for a additional $130 bucks. So now we have that 7-inch tablet from Apple,my question is though most might already have a iPad (like myself) will you still purchase the iPad mini?
