File-It-Under: Technical specification By: D.F.Skinner!~
The Nokia Lumia 920 was released this past week and it has garnished a lot of attention from tech pundits like myself.Since I'm a hardware junkie at heart, its only fair that I dig deep into the devices hardware.First, let us look at the smartphone in whole, this is of course Nokia third attempt in launching this Windows Phone. This past April Nokia collaborated with Microsoft and released the Lumia 900 with Windows 7.5. Depending on who you talk the the Lumia 900 had some success in terms of sells, but as you can see the Lumia 900 had a 5 month shelf life due in part of a massive hardware upgrade needed to support Windows 8.
Speaking of which, what exactly are we dealing with here in terms of hardware, lets observe the hardware "Specz Sheet" shall we.Reading various reports on the Lumia 920 it is heavy as a brick, that's because it weighs in at a hefty 185 grams with 10.7mm in thickness compared to the current iPhone 5 that has 112 grams in weight with 7.6mm in thickness.Part of the reason for the Lumia hefty weight is due in part to its very large battery that's encased inside of the smartphone. It uses a 2000 mAh battery capacity with 3.7 in voltage power,as far as battery life goes, there is 17 hours of talk time,16.7 days of stand-by time,10 hours of talk time on the 3G, 400 hours of stand-by time on the 3G.Now let us get even deeper into the hardware specs, the processor is a dual-Core Snapdragon S4 with a 1.5GHz clock speed. It has 1GB of internal memory,32GB of built in storage. The camera has 8.7 megapixels (8 megapixels in smartphones is starting to become standard now), with a front-facing camera that has 1.3 megapixels, the video records in 1080p HD. The Lumia 920 has a 4.5 inch display that comes in at 768 x 1280 pixels,IPS LCD technology with a touchscreen Capacitive,Multi-touch.
The Lumia 920 supports all three cellular data technologies, the GSM,LTE and UMTS,the Lumia 920 also supports the standard connectivity technologies starting with a Bluetooth 3.0,USB 2.0 and a microUSB, 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi with 5GHz signal strength and yes,it supports mobile hotspot.
