Here's a Shocker,The New Nexus 7 Was Launched This Week:What You Need To Know

File-It-Under: 7-inch Tablets By: D.F.Skinner!~

Yeah a shocker, the new Nexus 7 was launched this past Tuesday,a big surprise.I say that with such sarcasm because as you know,if you been following along closely on all the tech websites, you know a  unnamed Best Buy employee post pictures of the device for the web world to see last week, with details on specs and design. Well the new Nexus 7 has now come upon us in real time, and here's what you need to know about the new 7-inch Android tablet.

Judging by the images I've seen online, the new Nexus 7 design is pretty much the same as the first generation model, with the edges being more rounded and the actual physical design of the device being a tad bit thinner to the previous generation, weighing in at just 23 grams (0.8 ounce). Where the new Nexus really kills it for me is its display which has an impressive pixel density coming in at 323 ppi,a 1080p display quality ( a scratch proof Corning glass for its display),that's a equivalent of 1,920 x 1,200 resolution to be exact.

If you raise the hood of the new Nexus 7,you'll find a SnapDragon S 4 Pro processor which is a big upgrade from last year's Tegra 3 SoC. The processor is combined with a  fast GPU though the name of the GPU or what kind is not being disclosed(Update: The new Nexus 7 runs a 400MHz Adreno GPU).There is 2GB of RAM in the new Nexus 7 and your choices of 16GB and 32GB of storage. The Nexus 7 carries a 3.950 mAh battery power which can go up 9 hours of active use,its battery power is 75% better than the previous generation Nexus 7.Lets close the hood and take a look at some of the externals on the new Nexus 7,starting with stereo speakers which produces surround sound that's powered by Fraunofer,a 3,5mm audio connector. On the camera front, the Nexus 7 comes with what starting to be standard in most mobile devices, tablets alike,1.2MP front facing cam,a fixed  focus  5MP rear facing cam, auto focus.

The communication consist  of  Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) with a wireless standard that is a 802.11 a/b/g/n,your standard Bluetooth 4.0,it also has the famed NFC  for easy file sharing .The new Nexus 7 will come with a 4G LTE for its 32GB version, but there is no mention as to when that particular model  will be unleash to the market. For your external connection pleasure, the new Nexus 7 will come fully equipped with a Mico-USB, SlimPort enable.

The devices operating system will will be entrenched with Android 4.3,Jelly Bean to be exact. The price point of the Nexus 7 comes in at a very reasonable price point,$229 16GB WiFi, $269 32GB WiFi and $350 32GB WiFi + LTE.

The new Nexus 7 all adds up to once again in my opinion the best 7-inch tablet in the game, question now is what will Apple do to counter Google when it unveils its iPad mini this coming Fall.
