The New PS4: The Official Hardware Breakdown

Its official,the PS4 has been released to the masses and unsurprisingly there was a big turn out of consumers Friday at various outlets nationwide ready to get their hands on the next generation gaming console by Sony ( The PS45 has sold million consoles to date so far). Are you one of many folks asking what's inside the PS4? Then came to the right place. The PS4 for the most part has BEASTIE!! hardware that's on par with an high-end gaming computer. Without further ado,I take you inside of the PS4.


As I stated before the hardware internals within the PS4 are a  Beast, its certainly on par with high-end gaming computers as it has a 8-core AMD "Jaguar" processor that's built under the x86 64-bit architecture,it has a frequency clock at 1.6 GHz on a 2.75 GHz capable chip,it has a shared L2 Cache: 2 x MB, the processor is manufactured on a 28nm process . On the graphic front,the PS4 has a 1.84 TFLOPS AMD Radeon graphic chip that runs on the Core Next Engine,it has an astounding 1152 GPU Cores.


Lets move onto the storage  side as the PS4 has an amazing 8GB of GDDR5 RAM system memory Bus that measures 256-bits and a system memory bandwidth that comes in at 176.0G/Bs, there is 500GB of removable and up-gradable hard drive storage,you can also upgrade to a SSD which is a huge plus if you're looking to add more speed to your gaming console.


The PS4 still uses the standard wireless 802.11 b/g/n connection and uses a Bluetooth 2.1 connection (WTF? no Bluetooth 4.0?). It comes fitted with a USB 3.0 and Ethernet 10/100/1000 ports,has a HDMI out-port,digital-out optical port,and finally a SD output port. The SD output  supports lower-resolution displays,the HD output supports 720p  and 1080p and 1080i resolutions.


Peripherals included in the PS4 are a wireless controller Dualshock controller,Mono headset x1,AC power cord x1, HDMI cable x 1 and finally a USB cables x1.
