The drive will use a 3-bit TLC flash, developed in-house, paired with a new proprietary controller. Samsung states a 55% performance boost with reads and writes compared to the 980 Pro; it will also have 1,400K and 1,550K IOPS. Regarding sequential operation, the Samsung 990 Pro will offer insanely fast read/write speeds, 7,450 MB/s, and 6.900MB/s, respectively. An impressive performance boost.
