More CES 2026 Reveals: The LG OLED Evo W6 "Wallpaper" TV
At CES 2026, LG Electronics officially unveiled its most iconic "Wallpaper" form-factor TV, the LG OLED Evo W6. Absent from the market since 2020, the new W6 is LG's reimagined ultra-thin concept featuring "Zero Connect" wireless technology. The display is just 9mm thick, allowing potential users to place it flush against the wall like a “framed painting”, with no visible cables other than a discrete power line. The W6 positions itself as a strong competitor to Samsung’s Ultra-thin form factor TV, The Frame, but with high-end OLED performance ideal for enthusiasts and gamers alike.

The Design Form Factor
The thin panel display measures just 9mm (approximately 0.35 inches). While slightly thicker than the original 2017 model (measuring 2.57mm), the W6 includes a power supply unit and several wireless receivers, enabling auto-connection and eliminating the need for the cumbersome ribbon cable required to connect to a soundbar.
The total redesign of the wall mount allows users to mount the TV flush against the wall, edge-to-edge. There is no connection box—all inputs ( HDMI, USB, Ethernet) are housed in a separate cube that users can place up to 30 feet away from the display. The same box transmits 4K video and audio wirelessly to the screen, eliminating the need for cables that can create clutter.

Significant Innovations
In terms of visual innovation, LG calls its new paper-thin panel Hyper Radiant Technology—claiming the panel's new structure dramatically increases color volume and brightness without sacrificing the deep blacks that OLED is known for. The W6 features a new matte-finish coating rated as "Reflection Free Premium" by Intertek. Addressing one if OLED's significant weakness — glare in well-lit rooms—making this model suitable for sunshine illuminated living rooms, not just dark home theaters.

And, of course, you can not discuss any device today without linking it to AI. The W6 features a new Alpha 11 processor with a "Dual AI Engine" that analyzes content and room conditions in real time. The technology separates noise reduction and texture sharpening into parallel processes, preventing the "waxy" visual common in aggressive AI upscaling.

The Conclusion
For me, the LG OLED evo W6 is the standout of CES 2026, primarily because it addresses two significant complaints about the original Wallpaper TV: the dedicated soundbar tether and complex installation. By combining the "Zero Connect" feature with M-series wireless technology and a W-series aesthetic, LG created a "best of both worlds" flagship display.
The LG OLED evo W6 "Wallpaper" TV is expected to be available in late 2026. Pricing of the TV has not yet been announced, but industry insiders expect a significant premium over the standard G6 Gallery Series.
