One of the primary issues with DDR5 Ram is the high cost, and many processors aren’t compatible with the technology, at least not yet. As a result, many systems are still using DDR4 RAM. Currently, DDR5 though optional, it's preferred with Raptor Lake and Zen 4 processors. But things are about to change. Samsung just revealed that they're developing the industry's first 12-nanometer DDR5 DRAM, hinting that affordable memory is coming in the future.
