For me, 2022 was an exciting year for consumer tech. Of course, I've made top-choice purchases. But, as we go out with the old and into the new 2023, I feel compelled to list some of my favorite purchased gadgets of 2022.

Apple just updated their AirTags, addressing a primary issue plaguing users for months, and that's stalking. Once the update is enabled, users can detect when an unknown AirTag is nearby. The Air tag is unfortunately used for nefarious acts, including stalking, and some criminal-minded individuals planted AirTags in cars they intended to steal. The new update will make it difficult for anyone to misuse the device.

One of the primary issues with DDR5 Ram is the high cost, and many processors aren’t compatible with the technology, at least not yet. As a result, many systems are still using DDR4 RAM. Currently, DDR5  though optional, it's preferred with Raptor Lake and Zen 4 processors. But things are about to change. Samsung just revealed that they're developing the industry's first  12-nanometer DDR5 DRAM, hinting that affordable memory is coming in the future.

When you view the mouse specs, essential factors come into consideration, which is the polling rate. What is the polling rate, you ask? It refers to how often the mouse reports its position and other data to your computer, measured in Hertz (Hz). Hertz measures the number of times something occurs in one second. For example, if you have a mouse with a 500 Hz polling rate, this would mean your mouse reports to your computer 500 times. Higher polling rates mean your mouse will often report with less delay, measured in milliseconds.

I think it's safe to say in 2022; every household will have a digital assistant, from Google Home to Alexa. There are even households that have these devices in every room. I have two myself ( Google Home and Alexa) put to full use. With that said, quite a few still don't have a digital assistant and have a purchasing interest. So if you're considering getting a digital assistant, now would be a good time to buy one. Each brand, Siri, Alexa, and Google Home, are insanely reasonable regarding costs.
