Lenovo Launches Three Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake Laptops, The T490, L13, L13 Yoga

Topic: Notebooks

I have a soft spot for Lenovo with good reason. The company build very high quality laptops, the best on the market. If you browse through the website archives and search laptops, you'll likely see Lenovo dominate most of the written content. That's why I'm pretty excited about what Lenovo is about the release to market, three new laptops.. The fact that each new laptop will be integrated with the latest 10th gen Comet Lake processor and have advanced storage technology has me even more stoked with excitement.

First up we have the new Thinkpad T490, it's fitted with up to 10th Gen Comet Lake Intel Core i7 processors. Still retaining its signature compact sharply squared build measuring just 17.9mm thick, and weighing 3.2 pounds. Consumers have the option to choose from several display types that include 500 nits, WQHD Dolby Vision screen, or 400 nit FHD display.

Interestingly, Lenovo integrated audio system includes Dolby Premium speakers and dual far-field microphones that should enhance video-audio conference calls. When it comes to the battery, it delivers up to 15-hours of power and has Rapid Charge technology that delivers 80% capacity with an hour of charge. The network connectivity includes a Global LTE-A wireless WAN and WiFi Gig+ for LAN connections. Most high-end laptops will allow you to exceed memory past the standard 8GB and have more advanced storage technology. This particular model is no exception. You have the option to exceed memory capacity up to 48GB and storage up to 1TB PCIe SSD and Intel Optane SSD. Retail price for the ThinkPad T490 starts at $1,129 and is expected be launched in October.

Secondly, we have the ThinkPad L 13. Much like the ThinkPad T490, this particular model will also be fitted with up to 10th generation Intel Core i7 processors. The dimensions are also the same coming in at 17.6mm thick and weigh 3.06 pounds. The multiple display options will include a 300 nit FHD IPS touch display — audio premium Dolby with a pair of integrated speakers.

The battery will offer 14 hours of power on a single charge, and will also have the Rapid Charge technology that can bring 80% charge in under an hour. Intel HD will handle the graphics, while memory options include 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB with up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage. Now, as an option, you can get the backlit keyboard. October is the market launch with a start price point at $749.

The Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga weight is pushed up a few digits at 3.17 pounds and has a 13.3-inch thin Bezel FHD IPS touch screen with 300 nits brightness. Like the other models, it will also have the 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, using the Intel HD graphics for the visuals. Your RAM options are 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB with up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage.

The battery life is down a couple of hours at 12 per charge, having a 46Whr battery, and the laptop will also support Rapid Charge technology getting 80% power capacity in over an hour. The L13 Yoga will also have the backlit keyboard option for the consumer. This particular model has a hinge that will allow the screen to fold back. Enabling it to be used as a tablet or you can put it in tent mode as seen in the image. The market launch will also take place in October with a $919 start price.
