Samsung unveils a high performance and more power efficient Evo 990 SSD

Samsung has just officially unveiled its new 990 EVO SSD. According to the company, this new solid-state drive will offer improved peak performance and more power efficient for everyday computing tasks. The 990 EVO is compatible with PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 interfaces (its worth noting this is NVMe SSD) , ensuring that it will function with a wide range of systems.

The solid state drive has an respectable read and write speeds of up to 5,000 and 4,200 megabyte per second, primed for high level gaming and editing cumbersome files.

Let's address some of 990 EVO features; it has a smart thermal control system that prevents overheating and performance drops. It is also 70% more power efficient compared to previous Gen models, ensuring lasting battery life and low power consumption.

The 990 EVO SSD is available in two storage options, 1TB and 2 TB, with a five-year warranty. At the time of this writing, Samsung has not disclosed a retail price for this storage drive, but I’m sure the price will be listed in the coming weeks. If you’re enquiring about a versatile, fast, seemingly reliable, and power-efficient SSD for your PC or laptop ( and PS5) , then you might want to look at the Samsung 990 EVO.
