China is Set Launch a SSD the size of a Sim card With Built-in Shock Resistance

Biwin, a Chinese manufacturer, is about to launch an impressive Mini SSD. This SSD is the smallest in the world, measuring just 15mm x 17mm x 1.4mm, roughly the size of a Nano SIM card. Despite its small size, it boasts performance and features comparable to those of larger SSDs. This innovation showcases advancements in technology, enabling robust storage solutions in compact sizes.

Regarding specs and features, the Mini SSD features a PCIe Gen4 2 interface with NVMe 1.4. It has speeds of up to 3,700 MB/s for reading and 3,400 MB/s for writing. Storage capacities are 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. The drive is durable, boasting a respectable IP68 protection rating and 3-meter drop protection.

Designed for portability, the Mini SSD is tailored for mobile devices, such as Handheld gaming consoles (Nintendo Switch 2, ASUS ROG Ally, etc.), smartphones, and tablets. In addition, cameras and ultra-thin laptops will also benefit mightily from this diminutive SSD.

The Mini-storage drive is an innovative feat that could redefine how we think about expandable storage in compact mobile devices. Offering SSD-Level performance in a format that's easier to insert, eject, and protect--ideal for next-gen portables and rugged environments
